Well, yes it's happened to me.
The 2005 LM, on the Sunday we walked over to the Bar oposite Expo and had a few coffees with Cognac chasers!! (***king big mistake).
Arrived back at campsite and commenced striking camp ready for the off after the race.
As you all know, packing everything up and remembering where everything went in the motors is difficult when your sober. But this is thirsty work.
So beers were consummed (cooling agent) at what apparently was a hearty rate (me in particular). Anyway, everything packed away.
Where we camp regularly, there are some trees, so I took a few beers and sat in the shade.
Shade/booze combination had induced a sudden sleep period.
What happens to shade when the sun moves around the heavens? Yep, you guest it, there was me totally blotto and 50% dehidrated.
A dowsing in water doesn't work. But I was carefull (very) on the way back to Dieppe (I wasn't driving). Stopped at the Buffolo and had meal which promptly decided it did not want to be marinaded and which jumped out onto the carpark.
No photos, no tshirt and definately no book.
So, a warning to LM virgins (and the experienced) If you are stupid enough to do it, be man enough to admit it.
This is my 15th LM, and lessons are very hard to learn!!!!!!! I ran out of ideas so I joine the CAer's!

At my age, it takes me all night to do what I used to do all night!!!!!!!!!!!
Then, growing old is compulsary, but growing up is just optional.
