Simply (chuckling dangerously at Firenzaic Science, need to calm down!!)

Andy was that one of Gerry's Frenzys?

I'm restraining myself from making a quip about Jay's Magnum Opus, the Vaucxhall Magnum was a Viva coupe without the droopsnoot of the Firenza. Here's the Magnum the late great Jerry Marshall shared with the late great Peter Brock in the 1977 Spa 24hour:

"Peter shared a drive with the legendary Jerry Marshall to motor their 2.3 Litre car to second outright at Spa 24 hour race.  Indeed, the team won the very prestigious Kings Cup (Brock also won the Kings Cup in 1996), the Manufacturers Award and the Index of Performance  against more powerful 3 litre opposition (BMW and Capri). On the winners rostrum, the crowd was saying, "Who's this Brock bloke?, is he English?"  It was a proud moment for Brock and Vauxhall"

Sorry to hijack the thread Jay but you are the one who started all this Viva Madness!
I wouldn't sit there if I were you, it's still a bit wet.

Marvellous achievement! Could have done with you this morning. My doctor tells me that I have "House maids knee" My wife says.... "How the Fukc did you get that, sitting on the settee all weekend"
If thats The same as Bett Knee then its no laughing matter, quite painfull and can cause severe problems in later life if not dealt with. Feck- I sound like real doctor!  You have my sympathies Nobby.

Many Huge CONGRATULATIONS Dr. Jay.
At my age, it takes me all night to do what I used to do all night!!!!!!!!!!!
Then, growing old is compulsary, but growing up is just optional.

I don't do GREEN, I've got a 4x4

Well done Dr,

Hey, A great idea, at next years auction, you could auction off a sick note for the week after Le Mans.

Would make loads of money for charity.
If you're going through hell, keep going.

Thanks for all the words of thanks.  :) I think I'm a bit too young to be getting all Andys Vauxhall references.

No prescriptions from me I'm afraid I'm strictly a Dr of analytical chemistry. A real doctor as my local GP informed me yesterday.

Whats next, well I started work in the real world a few months ago for a large pharmaceutical company, not the aforementioned GSK I might add, but the beer in there social club is just so cheap. Sold my soul to the devil some might say, but after 8 years as a poor student I couldn't give a stuff.  :P

Nick I treated myself to four new cars off fleabay just yesterday.  ;D ;D

I just realised I used the words "anal" somewhere in a post. Big H will no long be along soon to inform us of the state of his piles or whatever colonic based ailment he is suffering from this week.  ;D ;D ;D

Like what?  Had a mini raid myself yesterday - a Fly 250 GTO in David Piper green, and an Oreca Saleen - both just out.  Where's the postman?....

A PhD viva voce to give it its full name is your oral exam at the end of your doctorate.

You get examined on the content of your thesis to satisfy the examiners that the work included is yours.

I think you knew fine well Mr Zarse and just wanted me to use oral in a post, not to mention my previous use of anal.  ;D

not to mention my previous use of anal

Which rather worryingly seems to have come in under the radar of BigH's detectors.

Anyway Jay, as a Dr you are entitled to use these sorts of words without inducing sniggers....
