THE HUMBER
« on: July 23, 2007, 01:14:48 pm »
Well its that time of year again and the Golden Arrow was driven down to Molly Millars lane this morning for her MOT. There i sat flicking through Autocar trying not to seem nervous as she was hoisted up on ramps prodded and poked as no lady of a certain vintage should be. 50 minutes of waiting and in comes the chap, paper in hand, she passed, 1st time, no advisories, nothing, just good old british rootes engineering sailing through todays beaurocracy.

Gawd bless her and all that sail in her.

If thats not an excuse to drop into the ship on my way home tonight i don't know what is.  ;D

Good news indeed Dave. No doubt the Commer Gods smiled on the Humber too.

Should have said, I could have dropped in and helped out. I work off Molly Millars Lane now.

Well done, I always think that LM Vehicle should always be MOT'd in July to make sure there is almost 10months to get things ready.

:) Jolly well done, but agree about the lack of dignity in looking up an old girl's skirt. Still it's nice to know she's not about to suffer a prolapse. Cave-ins are a bugger at that age.

I think I'll stick to MOT-ing the Commer in early June. I quite like the exitment of the panic induced by one component failing shortly followed by another.  :o
I wouldn't sit there if I were you, it's still a bit wet.

Well done Dave's golden Arrow

Andy, I think it has to be a part of the ritual now, will she or wont she?

I favour the June approach even though my Lara has hers in late May. Adds to the tingle factor

anyway again nice one Dave :)

We old ladies still have a bit of life in us then....
Good for her.  Just goes to prove, cars are for driving, nothing else.  They appreciate it and reward you in turn.

 :-* :-* :-*

I love to hear good news - well done that car

Of course we don't need to worry about the dreaded MOT here in Jersey as there is no such test!

Hey ho!
