Steel easy up Gazebo.
« on: February 03, 2008, 09:47:28 pm »
After trying to assemble a pole gezebo last year in the rain , only to loose it in the wind, I have bought on of these  from *bay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/3x6M-EZ-E-Pop-Up-Instant-Marquee-Canopy-Tent-Gazebo-Wh_W0QQitemZ180212159216QQihZ008QQcategoryZ20499QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Had to pick it up from Amtrack _ Cos they refused to leave it with a neiboughor, but now have it and it looks OK, the thickness of the frame spars could be a bit more but it already weights 82 lbs, so I think it will be OK. ours cost £70.60 inc PP, for a 3m x 6m, which I think was quite a good price. There seems to be a couple of suppliers, worth a look.

"3m x 6m"

Will you be erecting your tent underneath it in your 7m x 5m cell? :)

PARTY TENT...woohoo

Carry bag looks a bit big as it has wheels, plus,
add to the list ... generator, lights, freezer, fridge, seating, tables, music system, hangers on.... etc

Might be a lot dearer than you thought!!

Nice though, Stevie B has similar, I think it is his and makes good use of it (saw it at the last Classic, but did not dare venture near (group of noisy car people, that's noisy cars - not noisy people, I think)  stayed underneath my £13.50 gazebo from B&Q ... Pieter and Doris attended for 10 - 15 hours, or so it seemed  ;D (no offense meant).

How freaky..... I sent an email to the said same company on Friday asking various questions about the said same gazebo!!

Do you rate it??

To get monies worth, I'm thinking it would have to survive 3 tours to LM. Do you think its up to it??
I would like to attach some guy ropes to the corners as our gazebo last year ended up upside down!

Cheers

I got one of these for this year. It cost me £95 inc shipping. It is a lot more substancial than the ones we have brought in the past which are usually wrecked and not worth taking down and then struggling to get back in the box. Must remember NOT to torch this one on Monday morning

I got one of these for Le Mans last year, it was 8m X 4m and took 60 seconds to erect it was great but expensive.  I would say under £100 for a 6m X 3m is fantastic value.

Thats exactly the same, they have steel joints rather than plastic. I guess the poles will just bend though if we have weather as bad as last year (you can break anything if you try hard enough).

We will have to see but it looks a good enough for the price.

Tally Ho ---- Starting to get excited!!!

As Air Raid shellters go, I think Gazebo's are, in general, pretty crap  :-X
