Actually nothing to do with pill poppin' Lance. I simply wanted to say how sad I was to learn of the death of the funniest man in the world, Mr George Carlin.

Carlin barely registered in the UK, but was massive beyond words in the States, with 14 HBO specials. He was probably the most acuitive and analytical funny man around, his views on religion were just awesome. He taught us to question things and search for the truth behind what we're told everyday by the tossers in power. Richard Dawkins quoted him in The God Delusion. Well, I guess George now knows the truth, though his atoms have gone off to do something else.

George Denis Patrick Carlin
1937 - 2008

Oh and here just for Fax, who I'm sure will concur, are GC's views on Lance Armstrong

Read it on Sebring fans, watched his bit on the Ten Commandments and the 7 swear words.

Did not realise, he was the great guy in Bill and Ted adventures.

Pity - would luv to have seen more of him,

I saw him in Vegas and while I think he's a great and influential comedian who has made a huge impact on our society, his act was pretty morbid.  Teenage suicide and death being the main topics.  This was a couple of years ago and I have to say he was always current and that must have been what was on his mind at that time.  Left feeling a bit depressed though.

Certainly a hard loss of a very smart man.

Agree Andy, George may have been the funniest bastard to ever set foot on this planet.  Heard a good interview with Richard Lewis earlier today, talking about Carlin, and how he completely re-invented his comedic style, that originally his comedy was very tame and mainstream, but he chose to take up the torch of Lenny Bruce, and go off on things that really matter.  And yes! I completely with him about the pompous ass Lance Armstrong, wish that cheating SOB would fall into a black hole somewhere and vanish forever.
