Thought I ought to let you fine people know that I have just heard there will be NO radio station for the Classic.
Apparently the people who were supposed to do it have just told the organisers they aren't coming!! Was that Haymarket/classic and sportscar??I don't know.... Cry

I'm not sure you're summary is entirely true, I've seen a post somewhere (perhaps 10/10's?) from Hindy saying they weren't doing  the Classic and that was weeks ago....so I don't think it's a Daily Mail style "Hindhaugh lets them down" headline.

Anyway...much less need for RLM at the Classic, most of us can manage to keep us with 50 minute races...

AFAIK, RLM never did the Classic did they.  I think it was done by a different group of people altogether last time (one of whom is a Brit expat who lives here, whom I know vaguely).

Correct. Hindy / Radio Le Mans haven't previously done the Classic, nor were they lined up to do it this time around.

As I recall, the 2004 / 2006 Classic had a trackside commentary in the native language, interspersed with some English speaking Johnny giving updates to us Brits.

I think it might be the irritating bloke off the LM 24 DVD's?

That's the chap.  Can't remember if he's called Johnny though.

No Piglet, I don't think it's the same guy, nor is it the bloke who does the translations for/with Bruno.

Interesting - the situation from the horse's mouth, so to speak:

p.s I'm pretty sure I didn't suggest a 'hindy lets us down' headline. Huh
This WAS a Haymarket project. I think Hindy's email on the other site makes it pretty clear what happened.
