Glossing - pay someone to do it...

Emulsion - roller is far quicker...and even quicker is to cover the walls with your selection of favourite motor racing posters. My home office has 15 year old pink candy stripe wallpaper, but you can't see a lot of it. The posters are going a bit curly-edged though (except this year's LM one)

The poster thing really appeals to the 16 year old in me that always had her walls covered in pictures of Corvettes, Cagivas, and Lambos but I'm getting the house ready to sell or rent so have to be a bit more grown up about the whole thing.  :(

Jules - rollers are best but keep a brush handy for corners and edges.  ;)

Put all your posters in frames Doris- very smart; wait till you see my new garage at home- it'll be great if it ever gets finished! Lots of lovely old L M posters, all framed and ready to hang. Nice!

Paint pads give a really good finish with emulsion too, no splatters from the roller either.

I'm with nickliv here

paint pads do the job in half the time of rollers or an eighth the time of brushes

Since I discovered paint pads (way back when, and no I don't mean discovered as in exploration.....) I won't have a roller device in the house except those dinky little glossing rollers that do doors very nicely in a short time without curtaining or runs.

Which seems to cover just about most of Doris's questions

Kev, you really should get a set of manners, never  talk to a lady like that

shame

a real shame,  I thought you were going to be a good chap after your baptism of fire at Le Mans

tsk tskk tskkk

(And after watching Doris reduce a grown man to a shivering jelly without using any feminine wiles at all on him, I recommend a short sharp apology... Nudge nudge know wot I mean?)

Go Doris, go!

Since we're on the subject of decorating and garages - not quite sure how that happened but hey ho - in 2007 i managed to acquire a huge piece of that blue covering they had over all the fencing around the area just inside the entrance gate on MB. A penknife and loads of stealth saw it folded up and in my boot and it now adorns the whole of one wall in my garage. Having completely tidied it out it's now getting the framed poster treatment and will shortly benefit from a beer fridge and comfy chair. Lady Steve needs permission to enter the shrine!

BTW - is it me or are we running out of topics and contributors? It's only quiet!
