Drought restrictions on pools

Yes, I know these have been imposed at LM regardless for the last few years but once again the government is likely to ban the use of above ground pools and the like this year. From another forum:
As yet unconfirmed reports that the Minister for Ecology will again impose restrictions on filling swimming pools, private and public this Summer due to fears of a drought.
This happened in 2006 when right across France, anyone found with a hose pipe in their pool was landed a significant fine. Water reserves went down to dangerously low levels and so it has become clear that this situation is anticipated more and more here in France. It means that Pools both above ground, in ground, private and commercial cannot be filled, topped up, gardens cannot be watered, cars not washed this summer.

Poisson d'Avril
, or April fool I think. The decree quoted is dated 31 March.
The French text actually says that, by decree dated 31 March the Minister
has just
decided to prohibit the filling of swimming pools.
The English text is also incorrect - there was no nationwide blanket hosepipe ban in 2006, but in regions where there was a water shortage alert written permission from the Mayor was required for filling swimming pools.
Edit: I'm quite sure that the ACO has decided never again to allow pools on the campsites, drought or no drought.

Don't worry Deb. No-one has yet picked it up on that "other forum", where you might think they'd know better

In my defense I don't have a pool and have no interest in having one at the circuit (who bathes at LM for goodness's sake?) but was just passing it on. I will now watch the thread in the other place with increasing interest.

The only reason for having a pool is if its very hot, which it hasn't been since the pool ban started.
And with numbered pitches, one would need its own camping pass, and where we were last year, we'd need 300 metres of hose pipe to fill it
It was fun whilst it lasted

Yes, I do vaguely remember a time when it was hot here on race week.
