Haven't posted on here for a while, but thought I'd say hello, as my Le Mans 2009 starts this afternoon. I'm heading up to Atlanta to meet my brother Dave for our connecting flight over to Paris tonight.
I've got some work to do in Paris and then Hamburg, but will be at my parents place just south of Le Mans on Thursday night.
We've rented a motorhome which we'll drive up to the track on Friday morning to meet with the UK contingent of our gang.
We're not on Bleu Nord as last year - for some reason Karting Nord is this years allocation - I neither know nor care why. I doubt it will make much difference to the task at hand, which is to demolish a very substantial quantity of Guinness, Champagne, stogies and dead cow.
Contrary to popular belief, I do actually attend this event, but for some reason, rarely run into fellow CA contributors. It may have something to do with the aforementioned Guinness, Champagne, stogies and dead cow. I promise to make an effort this year to hunt some of you down. Additionally I suspect I'm quite easy to identify. I'm a dead-ringer for Brad Pitt and will have a particularly miserable visage, as this is the one motorsports event in my calendar where I am forced to do my share of dragging the cooler, rather than have my manservant, Seth perform such menial tasks.
So, safe travels one and all - and commiserations to those who can't make it this time.
Bon Voyage, touts le monde.
