Hi Bob,
Have you applied for refugee status yet?  Hope they continue to treat you well.

That would be very nice indeed, if only it were true.
Neither the airline or the insurance company are coughing up, so the additional £3000 of costs have to be covered by yours truly.

Anyway, back home last night, after what ended up being a month in Thailand.

You home yet Bob?

Yup. Got back on Sunday Morning, exactly a week late. Arrived at Vancouver airport for our saturday afternoon flight expecting it to resemble a refugee camp, but, nothing of the sort. No campbeds, no irate passengers, it was as if nothing had ever happened. Over the week we must have spent a total of 6 hours on hold with Air Canada, useless tossers. We were offered a flight home on Thursday via Montreal if we could get to the airport and check in in the next hour. Yeh right ::), taking the piss or what?. I spoke to the insurance company yesterday and it seems they will cough up for all except food and drink and the extra weeks liftpass, so not too bad. Need another holiday to get over it all. Still, only 5 weeks to LM ;D
