And the articles also mention that Lotus will be returning to Le mans, so lets all forget about F1 and celebrate the hopeful return

Got mixed emotions about this effort.  All the best of luck to them, but leave the JPS colors off.  That color scheme is sacred, it belongs to Colin Chapman & Peter Warr, and to their drivers, Fittipaldi, Peterson , Ickx, Andretti, De Angelis, and Senna.  Some things are better left to memory and history.

Couldn't agree more !
I'm also wondering where Lotus cars gets all the money for their racing projects ... Renault buy-out in F1 (and considering buying the shares of Genii capital in the future), new car for Le Mans, engine supplier in Indycar, GT4 and other race projects ... Lotus isn't that large manufacturer with loads of budget on the side. Surely not all of their resources can be paid by themselves and Petronas ?

Lotus cars are owned by proton, which in turn is all but state owned.

Agree with you, they should stop trying to freeload of the chapman era and create their own history.
Some people will tell you that slow is good - and it may be, on some days - but I am here to tell you that fast is better.

The money thing is interesting.  Are we sure that there isn't some Imp Tob money here - much as Philip Morris probably still fund those red jobs?

Whatever, said ciggie manufacturer must be chuffed to bits.
