Perrinn Open Source Car
« on: April 13, 2014, 02:58:51 pm »

http://perrinn.com/

Catching up on my Gareth Jones on Speed podcast, Gareth mentioned the Perrinn Open Source Le Mans car project.

I'm very familiar with open source software, but in when it comes to domains that are ultra competitive I'm not sure it works, although I love the idea that I could contribute.

Does anyone have experience, thoughts or views?

The link didn't reveal a great deal other than a vague concept that a LM winning car would be developed (by the fans / for the fans....). Do you think that the project runs on input from race fans / race cognoscenti who have particular skills - a sort of racing cooperative?
I'm not sure I understand the concept
