I think that I heard on RLM over the weekend that Maison Blanche camping will no longer be available next year, as they develop the area further for the "Porsche Sport Experience" (saw of couple of "pit garages" signed as such), which will mean the loss of some 900 camping pitches.

Anyone else hear that one, or did I imagine it? And if they are, where might they develop to replace the 900 pitches lost?  Or won't they bother?

Heard it too on radio LM.
They were talking about the construction of a new Porsche Driving Centre, which will cause a loss of 900 pitched at the Maison Blanche campsite.  I guess this is the end of MB then.

Seemed like it wasn't clear whether the aco had a new spot for those 900 pitches which will be gone.  Seem to remember a phrase like "where are they going to put everyone who is on MB now ?".

From what I have heard, Porsche are developing the driving school that is currently on MB. It will still be a campsite during LM week. However, the 900 pitches will be reserved exclusively for Porsche guests.

There seems to be a lot of rumours around about MB. I have checked with the Ticket agency yesterday and again today and they are now in contact with the ACO.

When I know I will let you all know.

Just Tickets told one of our group yesterday that they had been told it will still be there next year and we can have same tickets. However I wouldn't believe it until the tickets are in our hands....

As posted else where on the web direct from a UK ticket Agent.

"Head of the ACO Ticket office, who has confirmed that the Porsche Experience Centre will be built at Maison Blanche, but will not affect the camping pitches on MB"

I've heard its unlikely to be agreed until October, and on current plans 900 pitches will be lost.  Clearly a lot of money is at stake as its understood that the ACO aren't at all concerned about the pitch loss.

This is putting some people off, so the loss won't just be the pitches, but the grandstand seats and admissions too.  Spa and Nuremburgring are keen for us to come, whilst the ACO aren't.  Still, they survived the loss of half of Houx Annexe, but the football team in the new stadium were relegated, so its all been a bit of a white elephant

I've also heard that Porsche like stripes on the grass, (rather than broken glass and old bottle tops) at their other centres
