Capt Eric Brown - RIP
« on: February 21, 2016, 11:33:21 pm »
Capt Eric 'Winkle' Brown RN died aged 97 today - one of the world's greatest of aviation greats, covering stringbag biplanes to jets - over 2400 carrier landings and 487 different aircraft types in his log book.

Naval pilot and test pilot extraordinaire, an inspiration to many and a gentleman in the true sense of the word - fly high and with a good tailwind. Glass raised and RIP.

Sad news. A remarkable man, fantastic autobiography.

Very sad news. Indeed an extraordinary man.

You can see the BBC's documentary about his life here...

I will raise my glass to him.
