Changes at www.maisonblanche.co.uk
« on: February 04, 2005, 10:38:12 am »
Revamp underway .. new front end .. comments please?

www.maisonblanche.co.uk

Animations on front page might not work on all set-ups if firewall settings too aggressive. 917s should whizz across the roundel and the gauge needles should 'bounce' on mouse-over.

Due to new job, never gonna get the news restarted so will gradually become a history only website.

No whizzy 917s or bouncing needles here. The set of garages with opening doors is cute...but maybe not new - it's been a while since I was on maison-blanche! Otherwise looks fine!  :)

Cheers chaps. No Mr. Smokie sir, the garages are not new, haven't redone that page yet, just the 'opener'. Shame you can't see the 917s Smokie - rather proud of those!

The 917s were done by an MB fan a few years back and he has kindly consented to me using his artwork to create some mega posters. I just animated them!

Hmmm, nice idea JP! It's just trying to find the time. Not too keen on a post-it site and gonna be really busy with the new job, plus there are oodles of other good news sites around.

I'll sleep on it (oo-er missus!)  ;D

Well done sir.

Needles moved pretty dam quick, would have sent me straight to the pits!

As you say there are loads of current news sites around, I would prefer a good site telling the stories of some of the smaller teams. We have all seen the 917, 512,  gt40, Ickx, Bell  etc  there are many sites dedicated to those.

Not many sites tell the story of the smaller C2 teams  or Grp B etc.

just my 2 cents worth.

Some people will tell you that slow is good - and it may be, on some days - but I am here to tell you that fast is better.

Ahhhh OK, I now have the needles.  The old page must have been in my cache - a Shift/refresh loaded the new one. Nice...

I'd forgotten there was a front page - was surfing only within the realms of the forum - this looks very fine indeed!

Indeed - nicely done sir and jolly impressive - like the 917s and needles bouncing off the gauge stops, and the gulf stripe - nice work.
