Morning all!

Plan is to have our (only ever) practice session on Thu pm around MB, then we will assemble and fly off from our base around 11.00am on Friday. Wondered if we could get take off clearance from the Pope crew's tower?

Route tbc, but probably - lap of MB campsite, Jannines Bar/MB strip, Village, Champagne bar, Musee, Houx Annexe then onto Mulsanne via Tetre Rouge

A few slight concerns -

1) The team has not yet flown in any formation
2) None of the team have being following our prescribed chopper fitness programme to handle high speed G force turns
3) The smoke canisters are BIG and MILITARY. So big in fact I'm concerned we will blot out the airfield to inbound jets
4) The snchro pair don't yet know their death defying duties. If you ever saw "Bridge over the River Kwai"" I've taken the Jack Hawkins approach - why risk broken bones in advance? - they have a 25% chance on the day...

Support from all our freinds at CA very much appreciated as always...as would the offer of a cold one if we look like we need a "refuel" stop!

If anyone would like a fly by at their camp, let me know and I'll see if I can plot you on our display map! Pat - your escort on the public roads would be great - you could join us at the start at MB (or at the gate if they won't let you in)....expect you will get bored of our pathetic pace before too long though. We could bring the jeep for a bit of fun?

Finally, if you after a forward peak of some of the pilots..there are 8 in total, but just 4 here...

Only 2 weeks to go - I'm so excited I just don't know what to do!

Okay Pat - that's great - I expect you'll find us without problem. Should be in the vicinity of the Pope mobile & their air traffic control tower on MB

Which campsite are you on just in case I'm passing?

If all else fails though - will see you Fri am!! We have a recently qualified pilot in our team - I'm sure he'll want to discuss landing techniques and little fluffy clouds with you until the cows come home!!!

Thanks very much gents for the offer of "fighter cover" - if you are free and like minded, perhaps you could handle the water pistol merchants on the strip outside MB for us - we don't have room for water cannons on our choppers as the military smoke cannisters will take up the space.

We also need a cunning way to carry a small stereo to play our Dambusters tune....one to mull over a beer on Thu - we were going to do a practice run on MB if you want to come along to play...

;D ;D ;D ;D team moped boy and dad are in Tertre rouge, look for the Bedford BMW camper, a few honda 90's, moped boys aprilia 50, maybe a silver piagio 80 if I cam make the piece of s**t run for more then 10 mins, and the Matchless,
the matchless has pannier bags that attach to the frames shown in the picture, maybe they can hold the cassette player?
ps. : we suspect moped boy has discovered GIRLS!!!! could be worse he might have discovered boys! :P :-[ :-X :-* :'( :o ;D ;)

Monsieur Toad,
We can offer tandem mounted pith helmeted outriders sporting patriotic flags and rocket launchers if required. If not, we are out there anyway.
Dambusters, 633 and Great Escape is de rigeour.

Thanks Rusty & all who are interested in this project. I expect some will have other last minute plans (like openeing your bar!), but any outrider fighter cover would be greatly appreciated and possibly also huge fun.

So - 11.00am MB campsite, or if you can't get in c11.20 at the entrance to MB on FRIDAY. Anyone with ideas for meetings, stops etc, please let me know!
