1. Approximately how much is membership to ACO?
2. Is there a step by step guide to applying for tickets direct from the ACO for 2008?

Johne

Hi John

See also here for notes about ACO membership.

........................ I have always had the same customer/ beneficairy number on the confirmation letter.  Maybe the allocation is linked to this number, ie, the lower the number, the longer the person has been applying and therfore gets preferencial treatment.
I'm sure this is the trick.  You may have to book a certain number of tickets, but once you have a number they will reserve the same for next year.  Only if you want to increase the number of grandstand or camping tickets do you have a problem.

We could establish this for sure by gathering some info' when we get our allocations.  Maybe a success rate versus original reservation date and customer number?

Bob U,

Just to clarify, do you mean you booked in Feb 06 for 2007 tickets?

You're either at Le Mans, or waiting for Le Mans!

Yes. It's only a fax. You don't have to pay up front and are almost guarenteed to get what you ask for. I always ask for HA tickets but it might be different for MB.You can download the application form from the ACO website and change the year on the top.

You gotta love the new campsite with tents provided.

Quote " At the end of your stay take your tent home with you"

So, not only take your own rubbish with you, take ours too.

I think that there will be a lot of pikeys selling a lot of logoed tents in the following weeks.

35 square metre per ticket on HA? How on earth are they going to police that? It will be very interesting to see if I still have an area taped off waiting for me on Friday morning

Last year Bleu nord was all marked out in 35m2 plots .
Arrived at 5.30 am wednesday, and by 8am I was having arguements with the space police.
Luckily although I did not having all 4 camping passes I did have my invoice stating we did have 4 permits.
This was still a problem, and resulted in threats to have me removed from the site, untill I got out my mobile and said I was calling the ACO office at which point they backed down a little.
There then followed a conversation involving the fact that apparently I had erected my tent and parked my car in the wrong place on the pitch.
At which point I abandoned my poor French, picked up a peg mallet and asked in English if they really wanted me to move the 5 man tent I had just put up myself.
Eureka, this seemed to work, and they left to piss off someone else.
Next year I'm going to get some PL stickers for the car and pretend only to speak Polish.

Not quite true Barry - the section I was in wasnt marked (other than a bit of spray paint showing where the drive-thru had to be kept clear.

It was marked out on your side of the roadway and beyond - presumably because my area was funny shaped with trees/ditches etc and the area where you were (and beyond) was easier to mark out in straight lines!

It is never easy to mark out straight lines when you are pissed! or even pitch inside them!

Very true Fran, probably didn't realise at the time cos when we came over to yours were totally gobsmacked by the time warped germans with the mullets who were camped opposite you. Smiley
