Speedferries - New timetable
« on: January 23, 2007, 04:58:43 pm »
For those of you on tight schdules, speedferries have changed sailing times, as they haven't got their 2nd ferry.

I was emailed about it today.

Shi-ite - I've not got a mail off them yet, can you post or pm the gist of the contents?

Many thanks

They have changed the 1400 Boulogne/Dover sailing to 1330.
That's the only one I'm booked on, so don't know about other crossing times.

Up to 31/1/07 you can change time of your crossing FOC, as long as it's THE SAME DAY, and there's room on the crossing you want.

Just checked my sailings on the SpeedFerries site, both have changed.  The 10am outbound is now 10.40am, my 12 noon return is now 13.30pm.  Not too dramatic, I trust they will let me know themselves in due course.

  Not too dramatic

Agreed, but I do know some people who run to extremely tight schedules.

Here's (one) of my booking emails received today -

Dear Customer,

Changes to the 2007 sailing schedule
SpeedFerries was expecting to introduce the second fast ferry on the Dover-Boulogne route early this year. However, technical issues related to the available tonnage as well as the necessary port facilities have delayed the project. This means that we have to adjust our 2007 schedule until we are ready to introduce the second ship.

Transfer of your booking
You are receiving this e-mail as your booking has been affected by the recent schedule changes.

Your booking .....

Outbound: Dover 13-06-2007 08:00
Inbound: Boulogne 18-06-2007 20:00

has been transferred to:

Outbound: Dover 13-06-2007 07:00
Inbound: Boulogne 18-06-2007 20:50

You will receive a booking confirmation stating your new travel times within the next three weeks.

I just received an email from them too, stating that my outward ferry is leaving at 10.50 am instead of 9.00am on the Friday. It actually suits me much better.
My return is the same as Steve's.
If I was you, I wouldn't start from here

I've not heard owt from them re my x'ing, but seeing as how its the 9pm friday night same as last year can't see that changing.
Coming back lunchtime tuesday so my return is relaxed.

9pm start on the friday with humber power through the night.................hmmm have i really thought this one through??

The humber is currently in at a classic specialist being fettled by experts rather than me to hopefully maximise its chances of LM without the bust.

That sailings at 21.35 now Dave.
The cooler night air should boost power and aid realibility though ;D
