Missing V5
« on: September 25, 2007, 10:31:42 pm »
We got a new (well, new to us) car in May, and don't appear to have received the V5 yet.

We move house in 10 days. How much of a ballache is obtaining a replacement. (If I haven't had one, I'll be buggered if I'm going to pay the £25 fee)

I'll go get the vaseline then :'(

Not a big problem AFAIK.

But, you will be stuck with the £25.
If you can't fix it with a hammer, you have an electrical problem.

I have bought several cars without documents, most rescued from Banger Racers, and have had to get the DVLA vas out in exchange for paying £25 for a new one.
Several people I know have also never received a new document when buying a second hand car from a private seller or dealer and have had no joy from DVLA when asking for it to be sent.... and ended up paying the £25.
Shame they are so quick to send you fines when you post your sorn and it does not get to them....
Also... sure if you went through a speed camera in the car with no V5 in your name it would come back to you rather than the previous owner!! May find out soon as I think I did the other day!!
What do you mean dust?.... Thats not dust, this is dust! Ich Habe Honda S2000 and its not mine!
