I was told of a site where you can get good rates for forward purchase of currency. Need to spend at least £500 though.

Well, they may be good rates, but they may be not so good - bit of a gamble actually. For instance, I bought some dollars for delivery in March the other day for something over 2.08 to the pound, which is much better than offered by the leading banks - no commission either. But yesterday they were selling the same dollars for 2.10...

Anyway, it might be of use to someone, so here's the URL in case...

Going to Arizona in April and judging the way the exchange is going I'm buying my dollars in £300 lots.

Today got $600 for £301.95 at the PO. ER was $1.9871/£1.

There are places around here I could get a better rate, but when you consider travel and parking etc. It just ain't worth it.
At my age, it takes me all night to do what I used to do all night!!!!!!!!!!!
Then, growing old is compulsary, but growing up is just optional.

I don't do GREEN, I've got a 4x4

Worth looking at this site, they have links to Bureaux Exchanges and give a good overall look at the rates offered.

Still worth talking to your local travel exchange, we used our local Co-op earlier this year and they were very close to the best we could get on this site.
If you're going through hell, keep going.

We prebought our dollars 4 weeks ago for our trip to Orlando and at the time we got $2.06,whereas the post office etc...were offering !.96.So we are happy, eventhough the dollar is still getting a hammering in the world markets.

The broker we used only charged £10 commision as a one off charge.

The way the dollar is going, if you'll be making the trip more than once, it might be cheaper to buy Arizona and have it shipped to you.

It's a good thing my next Le Mans trip isn't until 2010.  ::)
I stole DelBoy's lighter and lived to tell the tale.

Well......Chop!!!!!!

The trip to Orlando in December will be my second this year..........if only there was a motor race at Disney this time.

Oh well I'll have to look forward ti Sebring in 2009.........unless I win the lottery

For you four-star-fix there's always the option of going into Kissimmee Old Town on Friday or Saturday (the better one) night.........loads of old classics meet there.
We happened to bump into an anniversary meeting in 2004 and there were 800+ there.........Oh........and it pi$$ed down!
Did I just say that out loud?

Hi Dangermouse.

Kissimee cruise is already on the agenda ;D
