Another famous Belgian winning in 1960, and infamous for his crash at the Esses in the mid 50s, which took out most of the Jaguars

We lost another great at the weekend. :(

Sad news. Not wishing to speak ill of the dead but I'm not quite sure he qualifies as a "great". He probably ranks alongside the recently departed Tony Rolt, another previous winner. I think it's probably fair to say they had other, greater, talents off the track.
I wouldn't sit there if I were you, it's still a bit wet.

I think his contributions as a journalist - in particular to Road and Track - are probably, as you say, more significant than his motor racing prowess which was good but not spectacular (helping to write  off those Jags couldn't be described as his finest hour!) I'll grant you.
Just another little bit of the past going South (you think about these things when you get to my age...)

Well, the old chap reached the fine age of 91. That's not so sad is it :)
2 cats, 6 rabbits, 2 guinea pigs, lots of mice, 1 syrian hamster, 1 chinchilla, a lot of fun!

That would be OK by me... but highly unlikely (as another Gauloise bites the dust!)
