New camera season
« on: April 04, 2008, 06:34:12 pm »
As it seems to be the season for announcing new cameras, I thought I would join in.

After years of expensive development costs I have had enough, and finally gone to the dark side and got myself a DSLR.

Here are some of my first attempts, from a sunny Brancaster beach.

Just need to get myself off to a race meeting to get some practise in before LM.

Le Mans is for the week......not just 24hrs!

Looks like it works just fine! What type of camera did you buy?

I bought a Sony Alpha 200, body only. The main reason being for the last 5 or so years I have beeen using a Minolta Dynax 5 and had built up various lenses and filters.

The Sony route provided me with a reasonably cheap way into DSLR. I could have gone for a good second hand camera from Canon or Nikon, but that would have meant throwing away perfectly good gear, and I didn't see the point in that.

I will still use film in the Minolta, but only b&w. There is just something about digital b&w that I don't like.
