They were a wonderful engine, the Centaurus, but honestly I think he will have a devil  >:D of a job with the collector rings....

How many of you can tell I'm jealous that he has one to play with then?  :'(

The big problem is the air racing lads will have scoured the desert looking for Centaurus bits, I think they were the most powerful piston engine ever put in a single seater fighter weren't they (F.S?) and racing Sea Furies are amongst the best there have been.

Blomin eck.

Where's his workshop. I'd be interested in a nose.. Crime prevention advise and all that... or just community work stuff.....

Thats really going to piss the neighbours off when it gets going.

That puts Rex's air raid siren to shame.
Gauntlet laid... Next year we need a plane engine on a stand, or a jet powered Cavalier!

Fling a turbo on it. The compression's low enough for the valves not to trouble the pistons.

There is a way to turn a scrap turbo into an even more scrap turbo by turning it into a jet engine of sorts. IIRC much propane required (But my Sodium Chlorate experiments at the beginning of the weekend indicates my amateur status, both as a chemist and an engineer.)

That's one hell of a rebuild project. I'll bet he spends a LOT of time on ebay. And avoiding his wife.
