Where is everyone?
« on: May 31, 2004, 07:44:41 pm »
I take it everyone is either down the pub enjoying the sunshine........ and beer, or packing for the big trip?

If it's the former, I'm looking forward to lots of misspelt postings later on.....

9 days to gooooooooooooooooo! It's really starting to drag now.

I've spent the day changing the oil and oil cooler pipes, fitting four new tyres, the car's had a new radiator, so the black beast should be roaring to go  ;D

8 days before I set off.   Spent today doing things.  I think I've now got everything.  But like most years I think it will just be a mad rush on the day of travel.  Will everything fit in the Mundaneo?  I have a few extras this year like the Genny and the Microwave.

I'm getting worried about the extra kit I am taking for the three nights in the campsite, I must be mad. Just a tent and a sleeping bag each did it last time but this time it's more than one night under the stars.

Will I really need two folding armchairs with beer holders and the inflatable "England" armchair?

Will I need a petrol can? (I know it shouldn't go on the ferry, but who really worries about that?)

A spare tyre? Really, what a worry guts I am.

Spanners as well as the fire extinguisher? No surely not.

--------------------------------------------------------

No it's OK, it's worrying about the details that's keeping me down to earth.....

Bill

Now where did I put that map... and the E111 form?

Perdu's next to us, so no doubt we'll have to think of some 'suitable' entertainment  ;)

Well Steve, I always like to play at "wot plug lead goos where" on V8's, any chance?

No, not true, I don't even want to see an engine 'til I'm back at work two weeks after the event.

I understand there was real entertainment available in the fairground until last year, maybe I'll have to do the bungee armchair instead. I'll see how brave (ratted) I feel after the shampoo event, maybe.

Don't think I'll bother with spanners after all, some other bugger will probably have one or two A/F ones wiv 'em!

Must have space for beds chairs and tent thingies, oh, bloody hell and the beer !!! ;D ;D ;D

Steve, is this not asking for trouble like the old saying goes if it ain't broke don't fix it ;) ;D

True, although I had an oil leak from one of the pipes whilst on the road which threatened to pump the contents of the sump along the road and the old radiator just couldn't handle Rouen traffic jams anymore.

The black beast is off to Rockingham this weekend for a 200 mile (and vast amounts of petrol) road test.

Don't forget the platinum credit card then Steve (and maybe a spare arm and leg) - at the current rate it will be well over £1 per litre by the time you get there  >:( particularly if you use the proper 98 octane stuff.
