AS there next demise is seemingly going through some lovely people are involved in trying to help / support the MG Rover workers.

Anyway, this is a copy of an e-mail i recieved. If its of interest, go along, or maybe forward the message to others.

Following on from last weeks CONVOY to Longbridge organised by Beverley Miles. It has been decided that another meet will take place on Sunday to Longbridge!

The idea is folk should either meet at Gaydon in the morning at 10am. Then move onto Q-gate at Longbridge for midday!

If you cant make it at Gaydon - go straight to Q-Gate and park on the grassy embankment!

This is an XPF led event inviting everyone one line community and CLUBS associated with MG's to join in!

It would be great if all that come along to wear any forum T-shirts, MG T-shirts.....Flags etc.

Remember we are doing this for the MGR workforce at Longbridge and its Franchises, nothing more.

So please let them know your support by attending!

Finally, a new site showing an impartial nature has been set up and should be live today - it's www.savemgrover.com  If anyone has any comments to add to it - please mail me on webmaster@xpower-mg.com

It'll be a sad day if Longbridge closes & MG Rover ceases to exist,

But to be honest it's the staff I feel sorry for, there are undoubtedly good engineers working there but the cars are outdated & the Phoenix management (why is it always management??) have not done anything to help the problems the company has. The workers just end up doing a bloody good job for nothing, shame cos my ZR is a wicked car to drive & is capable of matching Clio/Civic/Leon hot hatches Grin

Sad indeed but totally inevitable. Am I alone in thinking this sort of demonstration is just pissing in the wind?  The Chinese have said they are not interested; they would have to be mad anyway. Let it go lads, and slip away from this mortal (Lucas) coil with a bit of dignity.  Cry

Hands up all those who believe that Teflon Tony would have rushed to Birmingham with £150m, if there wasn't an election.

The rot set in a long time ago, work to rules, strikes not to mention the crap cars.

Shame really cos the SVR looks to be a not bad car albeit that it is made in Italy.
