Anyone else been or going this year?
Did you think there was as much as previous years?. I Went today it was ok but not as many stalls as normal selling stuff. Loved it a few years back when they had some small stalls for sellers with nick nacks & memorabilia.

Just got back.
You are spot on, lots there for people involved in competing but less and less stuff for the enthusiasts each year. Worst show yet and also the most i have ever paid to go but it was still busy. Going to have to think twice about next year unless cheaper tickets are on offer again.
Used to love the bits and pieces stalls etc but they went years ago.
Bugger all on display this year that I ain't seen before really. No major manufacture stands, except Peugeot and Skoda. interesting things were both on PUg stand with the Le Mans winner and Kris Meekes car.
Even the book stalls are getting smaller due to cost of having a stand.
The only interest now for me in the show is the oval racing show and live action oval racing show in the evening.
Think I am going to write a letter to Haymarket, not that it will do any good.

I was very disapointed with it this year to much stuff for the Competors and not enough for the fans. I think I only saw 2 lmp cars on show which was the drayson racing and the 908. There wasn't even a full selection of last years F1 cars No Red bulls, no toro rosso and no bmw

Surely the original intention of the Racing Car Show that turned into the Autosport International was to provide a platform for competition teams and component suppliers to show their wares to existing or prospective customers, the bits and peices for us followers of Motorsport were only really a later addition so that the NEC could make loads more money out of stands and tickets.
With the economy the way it is the small books and model sellers just aren't gonna run the risk of paying out big money with th echane that they won't even get that back let alone make a profit.
Mind you I must say that I haven't been to AI as i think it's way to expensive to get in and park, just what we all need in January! Senisble pricing might encourage me to go, but i doubt it as I hate the NEC! We got free tickets to the Classic Car Show a year or two back and it seemed like we had to park in North Wales somewhere, spent most of the day getting in and out and to and from the car!
Still it's horses for courses, I'm sure plenty of people enjoy it.

Drayson Racing Lola, where was that ? Missed that one on my travels.
Show is that bad now that this year there weren't any rally fixtures of any kind being given out for any thing other than rally cross.
Usually pick up leaflets for the BRC, BTRDA etc, etc but even they have been priced out of the show.

Disappointing to hear - it always used to be good, although I haven't been for a couple of years. Anyone go on the comp licence holder/trade days to see the engineering stands?

Can't believe you missed the Drayson Lola Chris! Although I managed to miss the Rocketsports Jag! Oops.... Was there shooting for Endurance-Info.com ... pics are at http://www.endurance-info.com/version2/photos-endurance.html?page=333&np=0Have to agree though, content of the show was poor and wasn't going to go this year until I got the call from the website on Wednesday evening! I was there Thursday so the crowds were a bit lighter (went once on the Saturday ... never again!!)

I think I only saw 2 lmp cars on show which was the drayson racing and the 908. There was also the RML Lola on the Racecar Engineering mag stand (although that was in the Engineering section which was only open on trade days) and the Mansell/Beechdean Ginetta, but that was tucked away in a corner so easy to miss. Took me and the DSC boys quite a while to find it!

Missed the Mansell car as well ! Didn't see the Drayson car because it was at ground level next to the Autosport stage and it was real busy round there as there was an interview on stage so gave it a wide berth.
