Does anyone know if the tram is running through the night during the race.

We are staying at Camping Pont Romain near Yvré l'Evêque. The plan to get up to the circuit was get the no 34 bus to near the Espal Arche De La Nature and from there up to the circuit.

The only issue I can see is getting back if the tram stops running(the hoof from the tram stop to Yvré l'Evêque does not look more than a few miles on the map) - the missus usually lasts till about 3am before she starts complaining. If its not running does anyone know if you can get a taxi from outside the circuit at that time?

If the transport just stops then we might just have to stay up the circuit all night  Cheesy

It looks like they have got their am/pm and 24 hour clocks mixed up but allowing for that it does look like it might run all night?

You could blame Google Chrome for my inaccuracies as it automatically translated French to English, obviously lost something in translation.

Excellent - I agree it looks like its all night as well from the circuit to town. However it does not mention the branch line to Espal or is it all the one thing. Might get the missus a fluent frenchy to wire off an email.

The Espal branch will not be running extra trains for race weekend.
First tram from St Martin to Espinal on the Sunday morning will be 07.31.
See HERE - the race weekend timetable isn't on that searchable site yet, but I'm sure they won't keep the Espinal branch open all night.

Thanks KPY, thats kind of what I thought. So in that case do french taxi drivers run all night during the race and do they pickup from the front gate. Or would it be a more sensible option to get into the centre of town via the all night tram and grab a taxi from there?

I remember getting a taxi back from the drivers parade one year was a bloody nightmare (before the tram), however I also remember 2 years that there was no issue.

If you know that your o/h runs out of puff at 03.00 then why not book an Yvre cab to pick her up?  LM cab fares overnight include return fare to their depot so it won't cost you any more and  you'd be more likely to get what you want.  I can look up some phone numbers for you if you like?

Good suggestion. The o/h is on good terms with the owner of the Yvres campsite so we can just phone and get there recommendation and then book one the day before. Arrange to get picked up at the main gate.

I did not imagine Yvres would have there own taxi company!
