You don't win Le Mans - you outlast it.

Without doubt, it is yourself, Big H, whilst competing in this years Somerset County Gymnastics Championships which due to the late withdrawal of the main sponsors (Combines-R-Us) had to be held in the chicken shed this year.

I believe this particular event is the "Upside down removal of the Croque Monsieur" event which last year was fiercely contested between Felix and Paula the Drooler??

I can honestly say I have no idea who the 'dead parrot' is, although Ian, that was a great call for Uncle Albert. He would love to think it was him, but his grizzled old behind had seen better days long before this. I'm sorry to say the bar has long gone, and I have a choice of two more photos to provide further clues. It would be interesting to see how long it would take from posting to moderators removal if I posted one of them.

The good old Bier Kellar, God how I miss it and the ice cold lager. When I first went in 88, it was the same year as Euro 88 (obviously!) was being held in Germany. So lots of "Jag-u-ar- la la la/Our Nige" fans went to Le Mans on the way to the footy. Regretably this included a small amount of the "Neanderthal" contigent, from both England and Germany (mainly Merc fans I think)and they gathered in the Kellar after dark. Someone said "did you call my pint a puff?" and all hell let loose, bottles, tables, chairs were flying everywhere in a surge of mindless violnce.  I hid behind the tuba player. The French riot police, the SNCF or whatever they are called, were on the spot in no time and had matters under control.

It's the only trouble I have ever seen at Le Mans and I hope it is not repeated.
