Looking at the various years of construction, half of the grid of last years race were already classics, eg. the Panoz. I think only Bentley and a handful of others actually built a new car for the race. OK, just joking....

I'd draw the borderline by today - 15 years, as an XJR is definitely a classic!

Cheers

For me there's just one classic, THE classic that is: The nine-one-heaven.
I don't care - I'm a racing driver and I'm here to win, not to finish third.

That's the 917 off course. One client of the company where I work is racing a GT3 Cup in the Porsche Club America (PCA). His number is 917 8) A classic ? Surely !

Cool but with delusions of grandure ;)

So we have a 917 so must have a T70 and a GT40, D and C Types. Did any race cars have names not just letters and numbers?

Le Mans Classics or classics in general -

General - Dodge Charger ( in orange with confederates flag on roof ) , TVR V8 , Lotus / caterham 7 , MINI COOPER ( not BMW thingy ) RS200, RS Mexico , Audi Quatro. Porsche 911 and the list goes on

Le Mans -

XJR , GT40 , MacLaren F1, Jag D Type, Bentley Speed 8 ,
A Classic - Not brand new , will be remembered forever , has a following , bit of a cult status ?

It's a beauty alright! Looks very much like a Shrike P15 Sports 2000/Thundersports car. Do you remember that class in the 80s Rick?
