917 design idea is good for me.
Le Mans - the how you get there is not quite as important as being there.

Still think we should do a 917 one year - iconic LM car - ditto the Ferrari 250 LM some time.
Quite right.

This was my idea for a mug last year (thanks Paddy for the Delaney V sign)

Thats a lot to put on your face, Lorry   :) :)

I've let this topic roll for a while, and as Paddy says we now have sufficient numbers to make it viable (I was looking for a minimum of 50 shirts).  I'll start a separate 'Order' thread after I check the prices with the supplier - they will have gone up a bit (extra VAT) and some increase since I last did them 2 years ago.

Regarding design, the front will be the 'traditional' design (I feel it's like our trademark), and it looks like the 917 is out in front for the rear.  Although I like the 'Vettes, we did miss the anniversary last year, and I am happy enough with the 917.

Although we have had 2-beers McQ before, I would be quite happy to use him again with the 917 in front of him - something like Below (a bit crude, but I'm sure Rusty will provide!!)

Del

Hi All

If anyone wants the original of McQ. I still have from when i did the original back.

You have to bear in mind the limitations of the printing and colours though.

Just make sure they don't resemble the T-shirts the ACO was selling last (and probably) this year.

I have given up on being on facebook and myspace, I kept mixing them up and invited people to come on Myface!

I know you're all going to hate me for saying it but I can live without Steve.  Movie great and he undoubtedly had some amateur talent but not enough for me to treat him as the hero some seem to.  Sorry.  Besides he's been done before.  But I will of course bow to the majority view.

I will now put my tin hat on and retire to my bunker.

I agree Deb. As much as SMQ is a part of Le Mans folklore he was hardly a world class race driver. if we need an anniversary for the shirt how about the 10th anniversary of the untimely death of Bob Wollek. Although he never won the race, in my opinion he was more of an icon of LM than SMQ will ever be.

I like that but as I say, I'm happy to go with whatever the flow is.  I have a Wollek t-shirt and it's amazing how many people comment upon it and say how much they admired him.

Hmm yeah, but that's on top of Eau Rouge though - not exactly Le Mans, is it? ;)
