Great photo's, shame I missed the old cars, but could only get there on Sunday, superb race with the petrol class keeping you excited right up to the final lap.
Attendance was very low but the weather forcasts were totally wrong, a great day to watch motor racing.

Weather held off for us those it was bloomin' windy sitting at Becketts - think I have wind burn on my face.

Shame those pesky Pugs won the race.

Has anyone seen the photo of 007 getting airborne at around the 4 hr mark?

It's on Mid-week Motorsport on Facebook.  I think they were VERY lucky to get the car back in one piece.

Yeh, good to see everyone again, and a good race too. Very well attended this year in spite the dire weather forecasted which thankfully didn't materialise. IMHO Silverstone, even after the all the rebuilding and improvements is still a soulless place with no atmosphere, and I think the changes have possibly made it worse. I must say though, the shuttle bus service around the circuit is a fantastic addition and saves a lot of walking. The new pit complex is all very modern and spacious and should keep The Poison Dwarf off The BRDC's back for a while. The Speedchills Girls that Paul and I met in the paddock were all Porkable and are going to Le Mans. Must invite them over to Blue Nord.

What a great race - edge of seat stuff - the hours just shot by. I parked myself in the grandstand at Becketts for a while too - and have to confess it was such a feast of motor sport on the eye that I had no idea where to look. I love the new Silverstone layout - suspect they might want to re think the astro turf idea though?  :D

Agree, a nice all round view from that grandstand. Bloody windy up there though. What time were you up there? We were in the top row for the first hour

It was incredibly windy - I could feel the entire stand shaking. I think I must have go up there around 1.30 ish and was there about half an hour I then carried on round the circuit eventually parking myself next to the big screen at Luffield for the last hour and a half - easier to keep up with things there as I had forgotten to bring my radio. I must admit I thought it was maybe a bigger crowd than last year - certainly seemed to take rather longer to get out of the car park? ::)

Official figures posted were 40,000 spectators. Was good to see everyone and agree with Bob,the circuit is even more "soul-less" then before.

Good race shame about the winners  :'(

Hey all, good to meet up with everyone, Ade, Rick, Tom, Bob, Paul, Kriss and gentlemen, you forgot to mention Helen.
I used to think the trek from Whittlebury was a pain but Copse to Woodlands is a complete mission!
The one thing I'd do to improve Silverstone would be to install some flamin' ATMs. How difficult would it be for goodness sake.

Great weekend though and great race, especially Maniac McNish's early charging (and barging). Sorry I had to leave early chaps but I had to do my ironing!
I tested negative for patience.

Great to meet up with everyone. Cracking race & company.

Some photos:

Zytek Hybrid during free practice on Friday.

What a difference a day makes - the hybrid went off just before the pit entrance at the start of free practice on Saturday (I checked to make sure the driver was out before I took this).

Aftermath

Audi & Peugeot neck & neck

Peugeot #8 has an off

Le Mans - the how you get there is not quite as important as being there.

Ade, great shot, it took the marshals a long time to put this out as the fuel pump never got shut off,
and no one could get to the power shut off.

Had a great weekend !  Enjoyed Silverstone ... was great to see some familiar faces again & put some new faces on some forum members.  @Chris24 : sorry we missed eachother, we'll meet again at Sebring.

First time I went to Silverstone, sometimes difficult to find my way around but it looks like a great track to watch a race (beside from the wind).  Few grandstands with a super view over the track like Beckett's and the grandstand where we saw qualifying and the start of the classic race.   Managed to get trackside for a couple of hours on Sunday afternoon, I'm still getting through my pictures but apparently they didn't turn out as well as I expected.

Cracking shots there Ade, seems like you were on the right spots this weekend !
