OK, my problem is this:
Dumped E reg' XR2 at a local church car park (private land) and has been there for several months, and they want it moved. We have checked into the legality of all this and the police have told us that as long as it is on private land, which it is, all they have to do is put up a "shift it in 7 days or we will notice" on the cars windscreen, and then the church can do what they want.
This is where I come into the frame; I have said I will take it off their hands, as the bodywork from what I have seen is sound, even where I can get my hand behind plastic bits. Interior looks clean, but no idea what it is like mechanically, etc... But before I can even move it, I need to be able to gain access, and this can be done in afew ways (and this where I need your advice)
1) Break a window - are they easy to replace? Is one easier to swap than another?
2) Break the lock - as it will be a track car, lock doesnt matter - easy way to do this?
3) Force the boot?
I think option 2 is my best bet, but not sure the best way to do it. Would an old metal coat hang do the trick? I have done this before when I locked the keys in my wifes Capri a year or two back :| Time taken to gain entry is not an issue, as what we will be doing is completely legal and even if it has an alarm, that can blare out as much as it likes as the police will be aware of what we are doing. BTW: I am too tight to pay a locksmith....
