It was a pleasure to finally meet Mr Evans, or Horace as I am now allowed to call him.
What a fine handsome fellow he is!

He was marvellous. Five pints of water, one of oil and an average of 18mpg. Providing we kept moving and had the roof open it wasn't even ridiculously hot.
I wouldn't sit there if I were you, it's still a bit wet.

It was a pleasure and privilige to have a short ride in your most spendid Gentlemans Conveyance on Friday afternoon, saving us a hot walk to Beausejour, very much appreciated, thank you.  It also ticked a box for me in that I got to ride in a car flying a Stn Cdrs Pennant! Delighted you made it there and back with no more than would be considered entirely appropriate levels of maintenance.  The Elan (1968) must go to Le Mans next year in her 50th year!

It was a joy to meet Mr Horace Evans. A worthy successor i'd say (but what do I know). There really is something special about driving to, from and around Le Mans in a vehicle older than oneself.
If I was you, I wouldn't start from here

A pleasure Sir! Look forward to seeing the Lotus next year.
