I've never understood the appeal - yes, it's a great classic, but I have never understood the out of this world prices.

For this much money, I'd have a..........330, a Bizzarrini, 917 and a 512, a 908, a caddy eldorado (not sure which year), an Elan and about 100 others and still leave enough to buy a couple of decent holiday homes.

While the car is lovely, I think it's price is for the fact that you're paying an entry ticket into a very very exclusive club.
