Gents
I'm off to Spa 19 to 21 September for the Masters Race Series where we have three or four cars racing.
I've never been before so any advice re accommodation, bars, places to spectate would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Steve,

I've only camped when I've been to a race there, but have done many track days at a Spa when I stay in a hotel, so others may have a better view for a race weekend.

The choice is to be in Spa or close to the track. I've stayed at Hotel Le Source - the hotel by the track, but it is soulless and probably booked out by race teams.  My preference is in Spa itself because there are great bars and restaurants, but factor in the drive to the circuit in the morning. If I go with my wife I stay in the Raddison Blu right in the centre simply because it is right in the centre of town also there's a funicular to the baths at the top which is quite fun and a bit different to track work. See http://www.thermesdespa.com/en/

There's also the Casino in town too, if that takes your fancy - I've been but find all Casinos a bit of a home for the desperate.

Steve....

Spa is a fantastic circuit, you'll really enjoy being there.

As far as camping goes, car park 3 is where we usually camp with the DUtchies,  as it close to the toilet/shower block and paddock.
,
I you go down that route take 4 seasons worth of clothing as Spa can have some really bizarre weather.......

Spa imho is a bit of a trek as it's about 10 miles from the track, but as Aricus says there is plenty of cafe's etc.

It's worth looking at the couple of hotels in Spa Francorchamps as it's 2 mins from the track, and you can always look at Malmady/Stavelot for accommodation.

There is a small hotel about a mile of so from the track near Stavelot, but I can't remember the name , but i'm sure you will find it if you Google!!

There is also Camping L'Eau Rouge which is a proper holiday campsite, very nice but a bit of a trek.

Thanks Chaps
Currently looking at Francochamps Racing Hotel @ £60 b&b en suite. Obviously not flash but it's only 500m from the circuit.
Like the sound of Spa for evenings out as well!!

Cheers

Flipping heck, what the hell is happening in this race. It's been total carnage for the last 4 Hr's. Hope the drivers are OK. Surprised it has not been red flagged yet...
