Hi Guys,
Sadly, I have to report that one of our crew passed away last week.
It's a while since any of us have made the journey to le Mans, but for those that knew him, you probably remember Savaloy as a man with never a dull moment, always ready with a big smile, and always good company. He also was at the front of the war against the wacky backy mountain, and could often be found sending what were probably very profound smoke signals in the Sioux language from his tent.
RIP Sav mate, you'll be missed.
H

 Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

Hadn't seen him at LM for a few years, but he always seemed to be around during my early years at LM, usually in a bar.   Grin
Always a smile on his face and laughing as I remember.
Always seemed to have the ability to make others laugh and smile as well.

RIP Savaloy.

Bloody hell H, very sorry to hear this.

Strangely I was only thinking about Sav the other day. I was stood in the world's slowest chip shop waiting for a cretin to batter a cod, wistfully staring at a bowl of watery red sausages in the glass display unit... and I started chuckling.

Never a dull moment is an understatement. I'll always remember him dishing out the stogies, Monte Christo I think, he kept them loose in a polythene bag tied around his wrist. He told me once why he only had one and a half legs, but I can't remember what happened, perhaps it involved some wild animals or something. Whatever, we were very drunk.

RIP Sav, you were a legendary character back in those not-so-distant golden days and will be remembered with the greatest of affection by many.
