I've just tried it on my yoof who said that it wasn't as bad as he was expecting (as it's a French band actually meant to say).

Err... Me too I think.

Is that three years on the trot of crap plastic French bands?  I guess that's it's becoming a tradition.  Perhaps we should have an entry in the a Guide on the new era of concerts?

I will just have to focus on delivering my dance moves on Friday  >:D >:D >:D

Surely the Target market (captive audience) are mostly middle aged and over, slightly portly men drinking beer and farting.
Maybe I speak for myself.........................

These gigs serve ONLY to bring in the youngsters (many of whom have no interest in Motor racing, I guess) solely to bring the attendance figures up at between peak times during the race week!

Nothing there for the bread and butter punters at all (the ones that support the race year after year AND spend the money!)
Not been interested in seeing any of it since The Stanglers.

Rant-ette over......
Baldrick, my Lord! But I can change it to Ploppy if it'll make things easier.

Hi!

I think you are exactly on the money.

I've tried listening to a couple recently and was struck by the large number of completely spaced out youths - clearly on more than beer.  A few that I saw were out for mischief - one tried to take my take my phone out of my pocket, but was unsuccessful.

The music of late has been in the dubstep style which the French youths seem to like.  This makes the bass extremely overblown and unappetising to my ears.

Hmmm - Status Quo at the Silverstone Classic last year seems light years (a little Star Wars Day joke there - May the fourth be with you and all that) away from a plastic french band.

Shame really as it could be one heck of a gig!

Bonio

Status Quo are one of the few rock bands that I have yet to watch. Fortunately for me they are playing up the road in Chinnor (Of all places) at the end of the month, so a few beer tokens will be well spent...

ah well, indy has skrillex...

The mighty Quo last time at Knobworth great swinging from the poles in the beer tent, splif on.

i want to be in a gang
or perhaps a drinking order

Speaking as someone who has seen the Quo several times since the 70's I thought that they were a bit naff at Silverstone last year. Just going through the motions in my opinion with no banter at all.
Note perfect though.
I tested negative for patience.

With a couple of notable exceptions (Stranglers in 2009 and Jamiroquai in 2003), the Saturday concerts have generally been pretty rubbish.

Far better when it was the Flying Baguettes on the DfH stage on Maison Blanche on a Friday night......

So they should be after nearly 50 years  ;D

Landy_Jon

I'll give you that (motions etc) but it could have been Justin Beiber...
