Breakfast on a Sunday?
« on: February 13, 2018, 11:36:07 am »
Landing in Caen on Sunday morning, breakfast timeish. Now, we traditionally breakfast at La Renaissance in Falaise, a decent run to warm the engine and always a great welcome and petit breakfast. We have never arrived in France on a Sunday before though and find that La Renaissance, regretfully, is not open on Sundays, can anybody suggest an alternative? Open on a Sunday morning, half decent food and service, not in but not too far from Caen though that's not a deal breaker, in the general direction of LM and off the main roads, oh - and parking where we can keep an eye on a well loaded and obviously 'tourists' car?

Any suggestions very welcome though I fear breakfast on the ferry looms.
Go placidly amidst the noise and haste....

Short of a coffee in a tabac, I fear there won't be much going on on a Sunday morning (maybe a bread shop).

Maccy Dees!
... 😣

Hotel Le Lion Verd in Putanges-Pont-Écrepin have confirmed that they will be serving continental breakfast on the Sunday (10th) prior to race weekend. My wife and I have eaten here before and can recommend it, very friendly, very nice breakfast and ample parking right outside. Putanges-Pont-Écrepin is a quant, interesting little ville too, on a nice route to LM and well worth a visit.

Should anybody else be thinking of dropping in for breakfast on the way down on the Sunday it might be best to email the hotel to let them know you are coming at some point.

That looks good, and ample parking for a caravan too  ;)

I didn't think French Maccy Dees opened before 11:00.  Have they started the McCroissant then?
