I'm dreadfully sorry to have to inform you all that Rex from The Brethren died yesterday.

I saw Rex in Sebring last week, he was the last person I said goodbye to as I left the curcuit on sunday lunchtime. He flew back on wednesday and went home. Details after this point are somewhat sketchy so I will not speculate further. It is fair to say there's a huge amount of shock, sadness and disbelief out there amongst his friends, from The Brethren and well beyond.

Beyond his obvious excesses, he was the kindest sweetest of men. Even when stratosperically refreshed he was never less than  a gentleman.

Funeral arrangements to be advised, all welcome.

Shine on you crazy diamond.

Every time I spoke to Rex he was a nice guy. He will be missed by friends and family.

Thoughts are with the closest folk who knew him. Glass will be raised this weekend in his memory

Yes, sad news.

I have fond memories (just) of a night in a ferry bar with Rex and his Princess

RIP Rex - although we met you just a couple of days each year you always left a lasting impression and I was glad that I could catch up with you at Sebring.
I've raised a few glasses on you yesterday - still have a headache Grin

I'll miss you!

Oh no! such sad news.
Rex was a really kind and gentle guy. I missed seeing him at Le Mans last year and was unaware of the loss of Julia.
RIP Rex, irreplaceable.

I was greatly saddened when I heard of Rex's untimely death, he truly was a one off; lunatic, hilarious, surrealist, naughty, hedonistic and kind.

Infectiously funny and also an interesting, knowledgable man.

He will be missed by many. Very much so by me. RIP.
