Distance walked at Le Mans

The amount of miles covered over the LM weekend has been something of a question amongst our group, with walking from KN or the Houx Annexe before and then around the village, terte rouge and down as far as you can to MB over several days there is some distance covered on foot (especially when not walking straight!!)

One of the guys this year has got a pedometer, to see how far is actually covered. Has anyone done this before or have any ideas how far

On sunday evening I usually feel like having walked a thousand miles. The actual figure might be a bit lower.   Interesting question, though.

I know that at Pre Quals we walked all of about 100meters as Smokie drove us everywhere!!!!!!

I reckon 'far enough' probably covers it for the majority.

Like hgb I always seem to feel like a walk to the Moon and back would have been shorter, but it's difficult to attribute this feeling to real distance covered or degree of alcohol poisoning....

I felt like royalty.

There were lots of arrows on the boat, pointing to the left side and the right side.

I seem to spend quite a bit of time on the poop deck on the homeward sailing. The bullwarks are by then pretty well full and so I extend the davit to rectify. The transom's in a hell of a state.

As far as I recall from my Naval Architecture studies, this is all to do with your moment of inertia having an adverse effect on your centre of bouyancy.

I suggest you take a firm hold of your gunwhales and ensure that the fo'c'sle head is suitably braced against an adverse angle of lol.

Basically, once you reach your angle of lol, you're knackered.

Failing that head directly to the shipwrights store and withdraw a sufficiently large enough astern turbine thrust bearing.
