Hi All,
Does anyone know what the score is with watching the footie match on the Sunday this year, ie is it on a terrestial frog channel so we can just pick it up with a normal tv, or am I going to have to strap a sattelite dish to the roof of me car?!!
Cheers,
Mark.

I don't know a lot about football, but I think the score isn't announced until match day, usually after the match...
I don't know much about tellies either, but they are definitely on a different system "over there" and your regular Brit TV will not work. Although a SECAM video import worked in B&W on my telly )some years ago), so you might get B&W?

hmm, I suppose we could just buy a small telly in the Carrefour which would work, they're probably only about a tenner over there

There should be plenty on site - make sure you make friends with someone who has one!

As the game is France - England and you are in France at that time, I guess you'll be able to receive it terrestial. The worldcup-games 2 years were also on french, terrestial, free TV. However, if you bring your own TV-Set check first that it can deal with the french system. A couple of years ago we found out, that an older german PAL-system TV doesn't work in France, because their transmisssion standard is SECAM. Many modern TVs are multi-system (e.g. almost all Sonys), they can deal with PAL, SECAM and NTSC as well. So just take a look in the manual of your TV set...

Cheers for that.
Being in Houx Annexe we won't have electric hook-up, so I now have the mission of finding a 12v/battery powered SECAM/multi-format TV that doesn't cost a fortune!!
Any ideas?

Mark,
it's probably not worth the hassle just for one weekend. We've been in Le Mans since 1985 , had the football-problem every 2 years (euro-and worldcups) and only a few years we had our own tv with us. In all the other years we always found an opportunity to watch football-games e.g. the pub near the track main-entrance, other groups on the campground, you'll find something, just ask around.

Have to agree with Werner. Every time there's been football on during the race there's always been plenty of opportunity to watch the games. Mind you I suppose if we all thought that someone else was taking the telly etc. and nobody did..........

With all the beers you are owed, Robbo, I suggest a 12 metre artic trailer will be more suited for you to bring it all back home - 'cos you sure wont be able to drink it all at Lemons - will you ?
