I am not expecting many replies on this, but for those of you who take only a sports car to Le Mans, but still want cool drink, have a look at this site.

We( Hants Police )  bought a few of the industrial coolers with 12v car attachment for use at Public Order situations and when we have to wait around all day in 3 stone of  equipment.

I can say they are excellent, and kept the drinks cool, despite regular openings for more drinks.

Ours has a compartment for ice, but we just kept putting more drink in it.

I havent a clue what the price's are , but its worth it.

Brad and I used one of the 26lt boxes this year in the boot of the MGF, bought it from woolies about £30. It worked really well although we did give it some help by putting 4 1.5lt bottles of frozen mineral water in, 2 in the bottom then the frozen curry, bacon etc the another 2 on top and then Butter milk etc on top of them - lots of room. As anybody with an MGF will know the boot gets pretty warm due to it location next to the engine!!! espcially with the overweight thrash down (oil temp was well up) but the cooler still worked well, we loaded it up Wed night and rand the cooler from the cig socket only when we ran the engine and the water was still cool on Monday (defrosted of course), and the food was keep safley chilled all weekend.
If it had been in a normal boot it would have been even better, the frozen water is always a good ideal anyway - why use ice packs - cant drink them.

Yup, I've got an Electrolux one of these with a top opening door - runs on 240V / 12V / gas.

We use an old multifunction caravan fridge.....which we connect to a gas cylinder at the campsite.

Deffo keeps the beers cold all weekend.

I hadnt seen this kit before ( not the size of it ) and it was excellent, but yes we keep the vans running all day anyway, so the battery isnt too much of an issue.

We used a gas fridge this year at the start of the week, until JPC got down there and adopted us with into his group.  

Got to say it worked well and the beers were cold.

Got one of these and its the great on 240v and gas, have a slight reservation on its ability running on 12v, but that may have been my fault.

WARNING  if you get a extension lead to run it off a ciggy lighter check the amperage, needs 8A + lead, I got a 5A by mistake , result extra heating element in the car.

I had an Electrolux, till someone used it to stand on and completely broke the lid. 3 way, gas mains and 12v. Only difficulty was that the cooling bar rather intruded on the available space.

Robbo - were you equipped for any "public order" situations on MB this year? We could have used your services when someone nucked us with that pepper spray/CS gas thing! We have a blue light on our Beer Disposal Squad car now if you ever need to get anywhere in a hurry!

For those of you who hanker after a caravan fridge......try contacting your local caravan dealer to see if they have any caravans being scrapped.......or contact"Top Gear"......they've got plenty of scrap caravans!!!!!!

Equiped - Well there were a few of us, but i as on holiday...again.

Blue Light - We had an orange one this year, may try "borrowing" a blue cherry from workshops for next year ( It has a built in siren ) It could work wonders getting through the Alencon toll booths !

These fridges are pretty expensive...
around 90 to 150 euros as pre-used.

Still look locally for some cheaper for you guys, but that's pretty rare.
