Before my time, but looks like the early seventies, the old pits are the clue. I think it could be Team Blakey with the Routemaster. Driven by that blond haired bloke Bob something or other who topped himself last year and Olive of of On the Buses.

I'll get you, Butlah! Bwwahhh!

You've got the vehicle correct, and as far as I know, you could be right about the team/drivers.  Otherwise way off the pace!

It's that well known kids team from the 70's "The Double Deckers" - remember the TV show? (not you Robbo Wink)

The Double Deckers! You could be right Steve. Just to cut across the other thread about slightly famous folk, how about this for a co-incidence?

I used to go to infants school with a kid who grew up to become well known sports car driver Nick Whale. He drove a BMW in the early 1990's in the BTCC, but now is seriously into historics. He was at the Classic LM this year driving a Lightweight E Type.

In about 1972, I remember being very jealous of Nick cos his Dad somehow wangled it for him to go and see an episode of the Double Deckers being filmed. Didn't know it then, but he had met a bird called Patsy Kensit who played Tiger. I think Nick also once got to watch the filming of Screen Test with Michael Rodd, but I can't think of any LM connection with that!

Was this the year of the closest finish. Waited for ages then three of them crossed the line at once. Cheesy

You maybe right with the bus, but not the team.

This double-decker bus was the property of the museum, and sold many years after to my boss who still own it.

Now the top roof has been cut, seats removed, upper level turned into a terrasse with balcony and lower level into an office.

This bus is actually for sale (around 4500 euros) and I'm actually thinking of a project around it.

oops !!!

I totally miss it  Undecided

This is not the "roadster"version we have to sell. The roadster version is based on a '47 AEC.

This one on the picture, the bus from the museum, is a '58 or '59 Routemaster. It's still in its original 64 seats configuration.

We recently used it for LM Classic and it'll be use on the Jacobins Square tomorrow for the scrutineering of the 24H karting and will next stand all week-end long on the Alain prost circuit during the race. Nice grandstand, isn't it ?  Cool
