A pornstar compliment, and a race track. Fantastic!
I called in there one day this week, just to see what was going round, and it was one of those days where the track is open to punters to go round 5 laps at a time, have a little Earl Grey and a watercress sandwich, and go out again.
There was quite a range of cars, but the great bit was watching how the different drivers performed. I'd say they were all amateurs, apart from Anthony Reid who was showing a young man how to drive his soft top Ferrari, and ranged from whippersnappers to coffin dodgers.
The cars went out five at a time, and the first 5 laps saw a very honky GT3 911 leave everyone for dead, followed by a Carrara 4 which couldn't shake off a chipped automatic RS6, leaving a couple of race prepped Elises looking very sad.
The star of the show though, was this young kid who turned up in what looked and sounded like a very standard Honda Accord. I reckon it was probably worth about a grand. He plastered the field, I watched him go round a supercharged XKR on the outside. Two 911's couldn't catch him, and he lapped a Cooper S, that's pretty good going in a 5 lap stint.
I didn't have a chance to have a word with him, but I think I might have bought him an egg salad roll.
