Pre Le Mans drinks
« on: June 07, 2005, 06:53:29 pm »
So I noticed a few of you regulars had a couple of drinks down Hampshire way not too long ago so I thought I'd ask...there's a couple of people who tend to post fairly regularly that I seem to remember being around & about the Norwich area.

To celebrate the "1 week to go" barrier being broken & to pray for the sun seeing as how Andy's gone & messed it all up now with the curse of the Commer ;)  Is anyone up for a couple of brewskis this weekend in/around the city somewhere??

I could be persuaded to come for a few drinks on Saturday night, i'd have to bring her indoors as she is coming to Le Mans for the first time. Not to worry she is a good laugh.

If there is enough people up for it, count me in. Where abouts where you thinking of, The Fat Cat, The Belgian Monk. Let me know. The rest of my crew are in Lincoln so it would only be two of us.

Cool, lets try & set it up then!! There'd be me & a mate who's coming this year
I'd be very impressed if you made it all the way up here JPC (thats dedication above & beyond the call of duty).
That said norwich does have a fairly (ahem) active student population & the weather is good 8)

Could start off at the Belgian Monk or maybe somewhere slightly larger/nearer the train station for anyone travelling here??

hum, sorry I missread your post, thought the meet was down in Hampshire, Norwich is a bit of a treak at this stage. Have to make up for it next week - only 7 days now untill we head out on the ex Austrailian military vomit commit.

I did wonder about JPC and IRW getting the wrong end of the stick. If there is enough interest count me in. Any pub will do.

JPC didn't get the wrong end of the stick, he will travel any amount of mileage to find beer  ;D

He even went to Sebring for a few jars, a bit further than Norwich!

Trouble is with his record of making it home after a beer night he would never make the Sunday departure for LM!! ;)

That's a point. I was thinking foi a B&B. Would have been good to meet some of the guys before Le Mans. In hindsight probably best if I take the missus out for dinner on Saturday, it being the last night with her for over a week!  ;)

If you organbise a debrief after the event though it would be good to go for a few beers in a different town! (What were you saying about the students??? 8))

I think i like JPC's idea of may'be having a post Le Mans debrief up here in Norwich. It turns out i have to bowl for Norfolk on Saturday anyway. The only Scotsman on Norfolks team.

As for students what with me being a post grad up here at the UEA, i could wangle you all into the student union. Now that i would like to see.
