This is a big subject Smokie,  Up North crew are steeped in LM music tradition...such as..

Once we are congregated the first song we always listen to is Thunder by AC/DC, live version.  As we enter Le Mans we always play Van Halen - Jump.

In between its a mixture of Doors, Floyd, Zep, Rush, Joe Satriani, Ministry, Marilyn Manson will make a debute this year on account of him being good at Donnington, Def Leppards Hysteria album always gets a go as does most Van Halen albums. Santana works well with the bbq.

So there you have it !

After seeing all these AC DC, Van Halen, Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd stuff going down, I think I better leave my Jemini and my Fast Food Rockers albums at home. Obviously you lot are heathens when it comes to appreciating good music. Bunch of old soap dodging hippies if you ask me. Get your hair cut.

Theres nothing annoys me more than loud music. I have to say that music was my first love ( I used to think it shone like the sun), but now as I’m sitting here in my car, I have only one love….. Cars. My wife can’t see the interest. All I get of her is  “ And I want and I need” etc etc. In fact all I ask for, all I pray for is a quiet private life. In the mornings when I get up, look out the window at the November rain and light my fire ( its so easy I can’t do it) I always look back at Le mans and wish I could turn back time and re-live some of the moments. Then I think all we need is just a little patience and it will be time to go next year. No one knows how much I love this race. I’m looking forward to next week as I know my friends are gonna be there to.

Right I can all see you saying, 'What the hell is he rambling on about'. Well included in the piece of crap are 15 songs. either by title or some lyrics from a song. Nearly all of them are by groups mentioned in this thread.  Answers please pop-pickers

Nice one Stu, I was onto the scam straight away, here's what I think you've put in, but I can't get em all -

Music - John Miles
Shone like the sun - I think is from Shine on you crazy diamond - Pink Floyd
I only have one love - Art Garfunkel?
And I want and I need - Def Leppard
Cars - Gary Newman
Here in my car - from the song Cars - Gary Newman
Private life  - The Pretenders
November rain - is yer Axel Rose anthem
Light my fire - as in come on baby - Jim and the Doors
its so easy  - Guns n Roses
turn back time - Cher
Ramble on  - Led Zep
Its so easy - Guns n roses

clutching at straws here but is 'look back' part of words from 'don't look' back by Boston

Damn can't get to 15, I'll not sleep now until you publish the results

From the songs I selected and including both Cars as 1 you have 8. I actually missed Its So Easy by GnR so give yourself a bonus point. Therefore 9 / 16. Great attempt. I'll leave it a few more days then cough the answers. A couple are quite subtle.

This year Tres Hombres will be mostly listening to:
The Le Mans collection 2003 (courtesy CD RW)
Hootie & The Blowfish
Led Zeppelin (The master of rock)
Tori Amos (cool chick)
2000GT (live)
The Datsuns (rifftastic mate)

We're just too cool for words!!!!!!

How subtle were you Stu??  Wink

There's things like:

Pray - Madonna
Music - Madonna
Easy - The Commodores
Friends - Shalamar
One Love - Blue
"I always look back" from "Queen Of My Heart - Westlife   Embarrassed
"just a little " from "A Litltle bit more" Liberty X

I know most aren't by artists mentioned elsewhere but hey, I'm on my second bottle!!  Smiley

Easy listening not included. All are rock groups not pap (sorry pop) music. Oh and while I'm on Mark, leave your records at home.

Cheers Stu.

It seems we are all "ROCK MONSTERS".

I guess the scoob could be rocking to:
Feeder (GT3 anyone)
Pink Floyd (goes without saying, which album is the question, "Wish You Were Here", for me)
ZZ Top (just rediscoverd "Deguello" pefect, fast cars fast women.......)
Sterophonics (scoobs owners fav)
Avril Lavine (as above)
Ian Dury and the Blockheads(why not totaly bonkers)
Led Zep(The masters)
Turin Breakes (just a great sound)

Hell I hope the CD changers big enough!

T-8days

Don't worry Stu, I'm not saying that they are my taste in music!!

We will be pumping out a few tunes, but I am sure they will be (mostly) to your liking. I think I've convinced our two that were going to bring their electric guitars with them to leave them at home though!! Otherwise the music drowns out the sound from the "Videos!!!"  Shocked

Do radio Le Mans still play "when the going gets tougth the tougth get going" for the most deserving pit crew?
They played it the first few years, can't remember since
