Started in 1988 for the Jags and never missed one so far.
I wouldn't sit there if I were you, it's still a bit wet.

  • You're either at Le Mans, or waiting for Le Mans!

First year was 91 only missed 93 due to a family wedding

Hmmm, poor excuse!  ;D

It was my sons' engagment party a couple of months ago. The most important piece of fatherly advice I could offer was

This will be my 19th straight visit.

I still get tingles down my spine as the cars start off on the first "proper" lap  ;D :D

My daughter usually has her birthday on 18 June.

Except next year, when she is 21, so I am declaring she will have an Official Birthday in another month... :)

Need my brother-in-law's, Matt & Dave Harper, to confirm this but I believe Richard (our brother-in-law) is doing his 25th consecutive Le Mans this year!  Matt and Dave can't be far behind but I'll leave it to them to supply the details - should they want to of course  :)

As for me, I believe this is my 10th consecutive year.  Yikes  :o

I'm here JP.

Can't compete on the 'unbroken' bit - only 12 years.  If I had gone in '93, this would have been my 25th.  Overall, this is my 28th (or may be 29).  You are right, though, first went in 1965.

Regarding 'clashing' anniversaries, you may remember I got married (again) on the Saturday after LM last year.  As they put this year's race back a week, I will have to miss my 1st year's wedding anniversary on the 19th.  No problem, though - I had my trip to LM for the next 30 years written into the marriage contract.  Only hope I can make them all, but I doubt anyone would give you good odds on that!!!!

since 99, with just 2001 out as my brother got married that weekend. Idiot, there are 51 other weekends i told him, and then he made me best man so i had to go. I did debate doing the speech and then driving like dick dastardly all the way down, or wondered if i could thumb a lift at the local private airfield, but ended up pissed and unconcious, so that was over.

Nice grub though.
