After several valeting atempts has anybody got any ideas on how to remove urine stains from the bonnet of my porky (as a witness to such events any ideas PERDU?Huh)  Cry Huh

Hi there, have you tried up market car care products like auto glym and zymol?

I changed to zymol about 18 months ago and the finish from the treatment is very good.  you may find it will do the trick, i suspect the urine has stripped off the top layer of polish and has eaten into the paint?

have a chat with zymol and they should be able to advise, otherwise it could be a panel respray?  i use john drake as he is so close and a member of the Porsche Club GB so he is well placed to advise.

Autoglym do a range of car care products that remove bird sh*t and the like.  However, as Peter says, the damage may have gone beyond the surface clear coat.

Have a car body shop have a 'no obligation' look at it.

Alternatively, I suggest one of these.

One of the reasons that i have suggested zymol is one of the products is a paste call HD Cleanse, it effectively takes off any existing polish and removes the crap sitting on top of the paint coat, its not abrasive like t cut etc.  it really works so you may fing talking to the guys they may say it wil work with the urine.  peter

This heart felt plea had me searching the archives to enact a cure.... Hmm! Let me see.

First off, are you sure of the source of the noxious staining?

The "alleged urination" in question might have been enacted by a couple of imbibers that had repeatedly lost moisture for a couple of days.Their liquid intake had weakened the uric acid content in their bodies to the extent that even in their own home site there was no trace of the "Spot" that they had used, so I am loath to blame them for discoloured red paint on the Porky, however...

However I am informed by the local bodywork witch-doctor that you will need fourteen drops of blood drawn at midnight from the left wrist veins of two willing donors who must drive 1; a BMW Minicooper and 2; A Nissan Skyline, whatever that is. Apparently this has been tried with an EVO but harmful results resulted (I dunno, I asked on your behalf, OK)

This needs to be added to two gallons of finest London water, distilled during the hours before midnight and the offending paintwork should be washed with it before dawn. Fortunately no further ingredients are required.

A small amount of wax based detergent is allowed but not encouraged....

Oh yes, and never get mechanics upset with your behaviour, it seems they have ways of getting you later.

What a fantastic thread!
Doesn't everyone have urine stains on their porky?. If you're a gentile, and have a bonnet cover, things can get pretty bad in there, and I wouldn't try mixing Autoglym up with that lot, up-market or not, you'd scare the living daylights out the nurse in the Genito-urinary Dept. Steve's picture of a grinder sent shivers down my spine, and it'd be a hard hearted consultant indeed who sent you down to the chemist with a prescription for one of those.
Has anyone got any advice about chipped rims?

It’s a depends answer this H.

sometimes a bit of bodyfiller will do the trick then build up with paint once the filler has been shaped to the wheel profile.  One potential problem is when you need a new tyre the filler tends to be knocked off.

the best solution and the most expensive is to give the wheel to a specialist who can use a lathe after re mettaling the dings or cut the wheel profile back to take the dings out that way.  Again, it depends how deep the dings are and if any structural damage has occurred like hair line fractures.  If this is the case it will probably mean a new wheel.

This method will also include a complete repaint which includes stripping the wheel back to metal and applying the necessary build up coats to provide a smooth surface for the paint and then it’s of to the autoclave for a good cooking.

I normally pay about £80 a wheel and if one is being done I normally have the other wheel done as well to keep the paint colour matched.  if you go down this route make sure they lacquer the whole wheel rather stopping at the outer part of wheel, I always think it looks a poor job if the whole wheel is not lacquered, when my wheels come from the factory this is how they are shipped but there again the wheels are £600 plus.
