Would you believe that my first trip to le Mans was on two wheels? The bike was a 1966 Triumph 5TA 500cc.

Blew a coil on the return trip so ran the rest of the way back with both spark plug wired to the one remaining working coil. Got back, but caused some amusement.

No prizes for anyone guessing what year that was!

Not before 1967? Am I on the right lines?

On the right lines- could be 1996 as the D-registration suffix started in January that year. Didn't change to August starts  until 1967. Would have attracted a lot of attention from PC Plod as I wasn't old enough to have licence in '66

Girlfriends old man just ralised he's got a full bike license.
His only "bike" was a 150cc bike of unknown parts !! He last rode in the early 60's .

He's not too pleased his little daughter has got a big hairy arsed bike !

Chris

When are you going and coming back? and have you booked the ferry yet?

Due to unlawful wife intervention (UWI) team fat bob are looking extremely shaky for attendance next year, but I may be able to squeeze in a friday to monday "weekend away", if so you could jump in with me. Let me know your plans.
