Your art is spectacular - ultra-impressive. How can such a piss-artist deliver such delicacy and eye for form?
You rock, my man!

Fax, you've got me scratching my head now, but I think it may well have been 88. I remember it was a Porsche factory team, not Joest or Brun, and that there was a lot of red and yellow around - I tried to barter the watchmans overalls off him for another beer or two, but he wouldn't have it. I guess the thought of him being discovered in the morning, pissed and in his underwear, with other drunks asleep in the cars was just too much for him.
Tom, I'm waiting....

If it was one of the red & yellow Shell/Dunlop cars it was 1988, only year they ran in those colors.
Aye-karomba! H, you may have changed motor racing history! Grin

If memory serves me correctly at LM it was Bell, Stuck & Ludwig in 17, Mass, Schuppan, Wollek in 18 and Andretti x3
in 19.  Loved those cars Wink

Lee, if my memory serves me well, which it doesn't, there were more than 3 of these cars in the Porsche tent. I think they had a couple of "T" cars in there as well.
It's a shame I didn't have a camera with me on that night, but this was pre digital days and I couldn't be trusted with SLR's and limited footage.
Maybe Fax knows a bit more about the Stuttgart strategy that year...

Not sure if they had any spare cars or not off the top of my head, will have to go home and consult the old Ken Wells book.
I remember the year before in '87 Price Cobb wrote off one of the factory 962's in practice and they didn't have a spare because Stuck had recently stuffed one at Weissach in testing.

Yup, one T car, and here it is.
I said thought I saw two, and I'd been drinking for a few days, so maybe I did. The second one was being driven by the Dean/Presley/Hitler trio...

It's all a matter of personal taste I know, but did anyone think the DeWAlt design on the TVRs a couple of year ago was anything but awful?

Sorry Big H , but I loved the TVR's in the DeWalt colour scheme !

Chris,
I didn't think it looked too bad either, but it just looked odd to most Americans because we're so used to seeing Matt Kenseth's NASCAR Chevy in those same colors.  I showed a photo of the TVR to a buddy of mine who's a die-hard NASCAR fan and he remarked "What the hell is it? A hatchback?"
